GRANTS, AWARDS AND FELLOWSHIPS

 1.A. H. BOERMA AWARD
 
The FAO is calling journalists or group of journalists to apply for A. H. Boerma Award. The A. H. Boerma award is for the journalists who have brought food security and rural development issues in developing countries to the attention of civil society.The award constitutes of an inscribed medal and a description of winner’s achievements. The winner will also get a cash prize of $10,000 USD. The award ceremony will be held at FAO headquarters, Rome. The winner will travel to Rome to receive the award.

Eligibility Criteria
§        Nominations from any country are welcome.
§        Each nomination should be accompanied by background information on the nominee, a selection ofmedia material that successfully represents the nominee’s work and was published or broadcast during the last four years.
How to Apply
Nominations for the award can be submitted by FAO Assistant Directors-General and Directors at FAO headquarters in Rome, FAO Regional and Subregional Representatives, FAO Country Representatives and Directors of FAO liaison offices.

3.REPORTING FELLOWSHIP
Journalists from Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia can apply for reporting fellowship.
4.PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
KOLOR PANOBOOK : Is the biggest contest, based on panoramic photography by stitching, open to everyone, amateur and professional photographers alike. The jury members, composed of 3 photography experts, have to select 150 winning images among all images submitted. The images awarded are published into a quality hardcover book, the Kolor Panobook. A gallery of the submitted images is available in real time: you can follow the progress of the contest and share your favorite images at any time with your friends or family through Facebook. http://www.panobook.org/
5.PHOTOGRAPHY GRANT : The Photographic Museum of Humanity Grant is an international photography contest that aims to finance selected photographers and bring recognition to emerging talents. http://www.phmuseum.com/grant
6.VIDEO CONTEST : The Economist is looking to bring that content to life through a variety of short videos geared towards teenagers.We are looking for filmmakers who can tackle the complex subjects and issues covered within the publication in a way that appeals to 14 to 17-year-olds. Filmmakers can use animation, live feeds, graphics, documentary style and more to create content that would engage a high-school student.Videos should be 3 to 5-minutes long and must focus on a subject covered by The Economist in one of the following areas: politics, finance, international relations or technology.
